- Mobility Equipment Lending Center. Families and their therapists can check out mobility equipment from our lending center FREE OF CHARGE to trial at home and school. This helps the families find the most suitable and beneficial pieces of equipment PRIOR to purchasing it! Equipment is typically loaned out in 3-6 week increments depending on demand.
- Mobility Clinics. Whether it’s a gait trainer, powered or manual wheelchair, adaptive bike or a mobile stander, our mobility clinics have them all! At our mobility clinics, physically-challenged children are given the opportunity to trial state-of-the art mobility equipment. Vendors from across the country showcase their equipment and allow the children the opportunity to trial it in a fun, interactive environment. We have physical and occupational therapists as well as rehabilitation/seating specialists on hand to help properly access each child in each piece of equipment. Children ages 1-18 are allowed to attend!
- Wheelchair sports and recreation program
· Our wheelchair sports and recreation program is open to physically-challenged children ages 2-23 and their families experience the thrills and learn life skills that come with being part of a team! We play games such as volleyball, soccer, sled hockey, baseball and other team building games weekly! We also hold an annual wheelchair track meet as well as a yearly play production. In December we will start offering adaptive downhill skiing! The goal of this program is to increase fitness, self-esteem, communication, socialization and sportsmanship skills while having fun! Wheelchairs are provided so that siblings, parents and peers can participate too! The playing field is FINALLY leveled for these physically-challenged children. Children who use walkers, wheelchairs or crutches are all encouraged to participate!
We have three divisions: one for manual chair users who can push themselves, one for power chair participants and one for those children who need a parent or PCA to push them. We also offer monthly recreational outings such as roller-wheeling (pushing their wheelchairs around the roller skating rink), Arts & Crafts/Game night, Bowling, Clay Your Way, and many other fun activities!
